Portugal Fashion takes five designer brands to fashion capitals

Between 26 September and 5 October, DAVII, Pé de Chumbo, Marques’Almeida and Miguel Vieira will present their collections during Milan Women’s Fashion Week, while De Pino joins the Portugal Fashion circuit in Paris for the first time.

The programme brings together two presentations and three fashion shows, starting on 26 September with DAVII and Pé de Chumbo presenting their collections at the Museo Diocesano in Milan.

The following day, Marques’Almeida makes its Milan debut with a fashion show at Palazzo Isimbardi. Winner of the LVMH Prize in 2015, the brand built much of its international profile from London, where it has regularly staged shows and, with the support of Portugal Fashion, has expanded its presence to other European settings, with events in Paris and Copenhagen.

Also on 27 September, Miguel Vieira presents his collection for the first time on Milan’s womenswear calendar, at the Rotonda della Besana, closing the in-person shows of this edition of Milan Fashion Week. Mónica Neto, director of Portugal Fashion, highlights that «Miguel’s journey has intersected, at many points, with the history of Portugal Fashion itself. It is a relationship built over many years, with rigour, continuity and a very distinctive creative identity. To see him now close the in-person shows at Milan Fashion Week gives this moment a dimension that goes beyond the presentation of a collection. Some journeys, because of their duration, consistency and circumstances, ultimately take on greater significance».

De Pino makes its Paris debut

On 5 October, the circuit moves on to Paris with De Pino, the brand created by Gabriel Figueiredo, one of the nine finalists for the 2026 LVMH Prize. The fashion show will take place at Fondazione Sozzani as part of Paris Women’s Fashion Week and marks the brand’s first participation in the Portugal Fashion circuit outside Portugal.

«De Pino joining this Portugal Fashion circuit has particular significance because this is a very young designer, with an already deeply cosmopolitan language and clear potential. Gabriel Figueiredo’s journey, culminating in the final of the LVMH Prize from more than 2,400 applications, shows that there is a new generation of Portuguese talent capable of establishing itself at the highest level. For Portugal Fashion, it is essential to identify that talent early, support it and create the conditions for recognition to translate into a career, market presence and growth», stresses Mónica Neto.

The participation in Milan and Paris is part of Portugal Fashion’s international promotion strategy, which includes a new action plan running until February 2028, combining the event in Portugal with initiatives in the industry’s main centres.

«Having five brands supported by Portugal Fashion, in the same season, between Milan and Paris, is a highly significant sign of Portuguese fashion’s ability to establish a presence on the sector’s leading circuits», notes the Portugal Fashion director, adding that the diversity of all the brands «is one of the strengths of Portuguese fashion and that is what we want to continue promoting internationally».
