Lameirinho debuts Archroma dyeing process

The Portuguese home textiles company is using a new dyeing process from Archroma that combines colouring, fixation and softening in a single step and delivers environmental benefits, with lower water and energy consumption.

Developed by Archroma for woven cellulosic textiles, InOneGO combines coloration, fixation and softening in a single continuous pad-dry application step, simplifying a dyeing process that traditionally requires multiple stages.

At Lameirinho, the process is also being explored as a tool to diversify the aesthetics of home textiles, particularly by reproducing effects traditionally associated with denim and clothing.

«This new InOneGO by Archroma process enables Lameirinho to achieve a wide range of shades and effects – including authentic indigo denim looks, wash-down effects and vintage-inspired finishes – bringing depth, character and a contemporary aesthetic to home textiles», says Jorge Leitão, Innovation and Development Manager at Lameirinho. «At the same time, it simplifies the dyeing process by reducing the number of processing steps and decreases resource consumption», he adds.

InOneGO was designed for cellulosic fabrics, covering applications in denim, fashion and home textiles, and is compatible different ranges of Archroma sulphur dyes, namely Diresul Rdt low-sulphide pre-reduced liquid dyes, as well as EarthColors and FiberColors, produced from biomass-based raw materials. This combination makes it possible to produce wash-down effects in a palette ranging from earthy tones to deep blues and dark blacks, while maintaining, according to Archroma, fastness levels.

«Achieving the washed-down look conventionally requires multiple washes, with extra water and energy needed at each stage. InOneGO is a genuine structural innovation. It delivers that same distressed character in a single step, with no trade-off in fastness – even after wash-down», says Julio Perales, Technical & Product Segment Manager at Archroma Textile Effects.

Assessments carried out using Archroma’s One Way Impact Calculator indicate significant reductions in the process impact when InOneGO is combined with Diresul Rdt dyes on woven fabrics, including denim and jacquard.

The tests, which included the application of a wash-down effect finish, compared the solution against conventional cold pad-batch reactive dyeing with a pigment top-dye finish.

According to the results released by Archroma, the process can reduce processing time by up to 81%, water consumption by up to 97% and CO2 emissions by up to 75%, while energy savings can reach 65%.
